Health & Safety

with Swimtastic

Your health is our priority as we return to Swimming activities. In conjunction with each of our partner pools, Swimtastic is following and implementing HSE, Swim Ireland and Active Ireland policies and procedures .

For example, we have introduced increased hygiene, deeper and more regular cleaning routines, but most importantly strict social distancing and mask wearing rules. We will ensure you feel safe from the very beginning and do our utmost to make it safe and pleasant for you all.

We will continue to monitor and update our procedures should there be any new advice or recommendations from the relevant state bodies.

Teacher Training – Covid Officers

Every Swimtastic teacher has been fully trained in best practise as ‘Covid officers’ and have all the up to date information needed to ensure health and safety.

Spectators

No spectators are currently allowed at swimming pools

Social Distancing & Hygiene

We are working hard to keep the same format of the lessons as before, but naturally there will be some changes to allow for social distancing. For example, we have increased the pool space we will be using at every location and we will be strictly monitoring space and distancing between swimmers during classes. We will give people enough room to maintain social distancing and we will be asking all swimmers to respect Government guidelines on social distancing at all times.

Swimming Pool – Health and Safety Etiquette

We are working closely with each pool / facility and our teachers to ensure we have the best practices in place. Please see the information below which is very important and which adherence to is in all our best interests.

As pools welcome back users, below are the various procedures and control measures we have ensured pools are undertaking throughout their facilities to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and therefore protect the safety of Leisure Centre Users and Staff.

  • Leisure club staff have been trained in the hygiene procedures required to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and they are fully aware of what is expected of them.
  • Leisure centres are carrying out staff temperature monitoring at the start of each shift to ensure staff and customer safety.
  • Customers must sanitise hands upon arrival and customers may be asked to allow for a safety temperature check.
  • Leisure club reception areas are cleaned and sanitised at regular intervals, paying particular attention to touch points such as door handles, card readers, counter tops etc.
  • Swimming pool areas are deep cleaned and disinfected each night.
  • A specific cleaning program is in place to ensure that touch points are cleaned regularly throughout the course of the day in the swimming areas, changing rooms, showers and gym areas.
  • Pool and shower waters are tested regularly for bacteria to ensure that it is safe to use.
  • Clubs are regularly testing and monitoring the chlorine levels in our pool and jacuzzi water.
