Training Process Overview
We begin by bringing you to Swimtastic classes and making you familiar with what we do to determine if you feel it is a match for you.
You will view our classes and learn about the basic structure and delivery of our courses.
Once you are confident that this could be for you, you will begin the process of “Shadowing” alongside a Swim Teacher. This is our in-house approach to preparing you to become a fully trained and qualified teacher.
You will shadow a teacher fulfilling a full swim course which usually lasts between 7 and 9 weeks. At the end of that period, you will have completed Phase One of your training.
It is a step-by-step approach entailing six clear stages that takes around 3 months to complete:
1. Preparation & Viewing
2. Learning
3. Shadowing with a Teacher (you are still watching)
4. Taking a Lead - (but alongside a trainer)
5. Taking Your Own Classes (trainer is observing)
6. Achieving Your Awards - Certifications and Qualifications
