Course description

From understanding your own body buoyancy to basic swimming, by learning correct breath control and motions. This will allow you to comfortably swim forward using correct leg and arm action, without aids or the need to constantly stop or try to feel the ground for short distance on the front and also on back.

Course Skills
  • Demonstrate a push and glide with leg kick up to 5 metres holding streamline position
  • Leg kick on front and back for up to 15 metres
  • Swim on your back holding correct body position up to 15 metres
  • Introduction to sculling
  • Show rotation from floating position front/back and back/front
  • Develop correct leg and arm action on front
  • Develop correct leg and arm action on back
  • Introduction to breaststroke leg kick
