Course description

Progressing basic swimming by learning the bilateral breathing techniques which allow you to comfortably swim front crawl and build up your own stamina. With gentle introduction to sculling, rotation and treading water, which are some of the most important survival skills. We will also introduce breaststroke.

Course Skills
  • Swim up to 10 metres Front crawl maintaining correct breathing technique
  • Swim up to 20 metres Backcrawl maintaining correct body position
  • Demonstrate a sculling action
  • Demonstrate understanding of treading water for up to 30 seconds
  • Show rotation from floating position front to back and back to front
  • Demonstrate a push and glide with leg kick holding streamline position
  • Basic breaststroke leg & arm movement
  • Swim up to 10 metres Front crawl maintaining correct leg & arms action
  • Swim up to 20 metres Backcrawl maintaining correct leg & arms action
