Course description

The swimmer has now been introduced to all four strokes, in this level the swimmer will increase their distance on their front and back while concentrating on their technique. The swimmer will be introduced to the full strokes of breaststroke and butterfly. The swimmers water safety skills will develop with the improvement of their lifesaving strokes and use of pool rescue equipment.

Course Skills
  • Perform a feet first surface dive
  • Perform simultaneous kick and arm action on front for 12m
  • Perform simultaneous kick and arm action on back for 12m
  • Perform Breaststroke leg action for 8m
  • Perform full Breaststroke for 8m - attempt
  • Perform butterfly leg kick for 8m
  • Perform butterfly for two cycles - arms & legs - attempt
  • Thread water for 30 seconds
  • Simple rescue techniques (voice, reaching and throwing rescue)
