Course Skills

• Attend at least 60% of the course classes
• Independent swims with board on their tummy
• Rotation happy – roll over from tummy onto their back
• Comfortable with face in water – holding breath or blowing bubbles
• Able to do 1 – 2 metre swims independently from carer towards wall or around in the pool
• Has achieved board independence
• Safety drills 1 - Jumping in
• Safety drills 2 - No running on the pool bank, no running away from carer
• Safety drills 3 - Jumping in turning around and holding onto wall
• Safety drills 4 - Jumping off the mat, go underwater and then find parent or the mat to hold on to
